Summary PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Coordinates activities related to inventory control, raw & in-process materials, and other associated activities.

WORKING PROCEEDURES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITY ASSIGNED:
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR JOB DUTIES, BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT, NOR THE QUESTION BEING RAISED ON THE PROPER RATE OF PAY FOR THE ASSIGNMENT.

1. Utilize forecasts, MRP production schedules, engineering information (including – ECNs – Engineering Change Notices), directives to procure, order, and change notices to schedule materials and services from vendors, and coordinate materials at current production rates. Additional work may include data entry and document creation for manufacturing.
2. With direction from management supervision, establish and review all inventory levels required to maintain production rates (includes line and stored inventories).
3. Through daily and/or monthly verbal and/or written communications and instructions along with the Quality Control Department, maintain an orderly flow of materials through the Receiving Inspection Department, including, but not limited to, processing of discrepancies (MDVCARs), sample reports, and L-orders with Engineering and Purchasing assistance when required.
4. Maintain (by issuing necessary purchase orders) inventory levels for new product lines in accordance with established policy and/or after consultation with the Engineering, Quality, or Manufacturing Departments.
5. Advise and update Purchasing Supervisor or Manager of any and all pertinent information, including, but not limited to, economic order quantities (EOQs), price variances, supplier performance in meeting schedules, and supplier quality issues.
6. Determine, expedite, and maintain procurement records for parts or services purchased, costs, and delivery required to maintain inventory and production levels.
7. Perform inventory cycle counts as required. Electronically update inventory discrepancies with Supervision notification.
8. Actively pursue cost-saving opportunities and other work related activities to help obtain departmental goals and objectives.
9. Update and maintain inventory control program such as, VMI, Kanban, Consignment, etc.
10. Perform all work of a similar or less complex nature, or as directed by management.

SCOPE, PURPOSE AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS:

In order to insure the free flow of information, frequent contact is required with different personnel that may include, but is not limited to Engineers, Manufacturing Management Personnel, Buyers, Quality Personnel, Laboratory Personnel, Warehouse/Stores Personnel, Purchasing Personnel, vendors, etc.

DIRECTION OF OTHERS:

Supply information to lower classified personnel on established policies concerning issues that are pertinent to the execution of this position and the work associated with such position.

DIRECTION RECEIVED:

Receive instructions from supervision on policy and procedures relating to inventory levels and stocking issues. Receive no instructions on regular work.

SALARY $35,238.48 - $38,442.48


PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

1. EDUCATION:
High School Graduate with preferred additional education in Business related subjects with some purchasing experience.

2. EXPERIENCE:
-At least (1) years experience in Inventory Control & Purchasing activities.
-Strong M.S. Office or equivalent skills
